It’s rare that a carrot dish takes center stage and gets all the applause. That’s what happened when our contributing editor Anna Franklin unveiled these Maple-Glazed Bacon-Wrapped Carrots. They look wonderful. They taste even better. We’re sure that when you make them, they will disappear just as quickly as they did at our studio.
Maple-Glazed Bacon-Wrapped Carrots Recipe
INGREDIENTS
For the carrots:
12-14 medium-size carrots with tops
1 lb bacon
For the glaze:
1/4 cup maple syrup
Juice of ½ lemon
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp Cajun seasoning
1 tsp fresh thyme, chopped
INSTRUCTIONS
- Wash and peel each carrot and wrap them in a piece of bacon.
- Mix together all of the glaze ingredients in a small bowl.
- Place bacon-wrapped carrots on a parchment-lined baking sheet and brush with the maple glaze.
- Bake at 375 degrees until the bacon is crispy, about 45 minutes.
- Make sure to flip the carrots halfway through cooking so all of the sides get browned.
- Drizzle with the remaining glaze before serving.
